The incumbent must possess knowledge applicable to the job such as principles of pre-employment screening, report writing, state/federal employment laws, as well as Palicon Group policies and procedures. Description Background Investigations Records Technician Full-Time | Entry-Level Job Summary Palicon Group is seeking a dependable, organized, and detail-oriented Background Investigations Records Technician to support our pre-employment background investigation team. This position involves reviewing, scanning, organizing, and processing confidential candidate documentation , conducting research, maintaining electronic case files, and assisting experienced investigators with assigned cases. This is a computer-intensive position requiring strong attention to detail, accuracy, professionalism, and the ability to maintain strict confidentiality. Key Responsibilities Review, scan, organize, and process confidential candidate documents. Review documentation for completeness, accuracy, and inconsistencies. Identify missing information or items requiring follow-up. Maintain accurate and organized electronic case files. Conduct database, public-record, and internet research. Enter and update information in case management systems. Assist investigators with case research and follow-up. Prepare case notes, summaries, and other written documentation. Conduct interviews and obtain information as assigned. Manage multiple cases and meet established deadlines. Maintain strict confidentiality of candidate, client, and investigative information. Computer Skills Must possess current and proficient computer skills . Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, cloud-based systems, and AI-assisted productivity tools . Comfortable working with PDFs, scanners, electronic documents, and digital file-management systems. Ability to efficiently navigate multiple programs, databases, and web-based systems. Ability to quickly learn new software, technology, and company case management systems. Qualifications Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Excellent organizational and time-management skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to review detailed information and identify discrepancies. Strong research and analytical skills. Professional judgment when handling sensitive information. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong English grammar, spelling, and professional writing skills. Education & Experience Bachelor's degree required preferably in Criminal Justice, Psychology, Business Administration, Human Resources, Sociology, or a closely related field. Two (2) years of experience in an administrative, research, information-gathering, investigative, records, or similar work environment. Equivalent combinations of relevant education, training, and experience may be considered. Additional Requirements Valid California driver's license. Ability to appropriately handle and protect sensitive and confidential information. Work Environment This is primarily an office-based position involving extensive computer and document review. Candidates should be comfortable working at a computer for extended periods and managing multiple assignments and deadlines. We're looking for someone who is technologically current, highly organized, accurate, and interested in developing a career in the background investigation field. Salary $23 - $25 per hour
