Job Purpose The Groundskeeper is responsible for maintaining the appearance, playability, and overall condition of the golf course and surrounding property. This role supports daily course operations through routine turf care, landscaping, equipment operation, and attention to detail that ensures a safe, attractive, and high-quality playing environment for guests and members. Responsibilities Perform daily maintenance activities including mowing greens, tees, fairways, and rough Assist with irrigation system operation, inspection, and basic repairs Rake bunkers, edge cart paths, trim landscaping, and maintain clubhouse grounds Support seeding, fertilizing, aeration, topdressing, and turf renovation projects Remove debris and ensure course cleanliness and safety Operate and maintain hand tools, small equipment, and riding machinery safely Follow established maintenance schedules and safety procedures Report course conditions, equipment issues, or hazards to supervisors Assist with storm cleanup, special projects, and seasonal course preparation Uphold environmental stewardship practices and water conservation standards Deliver friendly, professional interactions with guests when encountered on course Qualifications Previous golf course or landscape maintenance experience preferred but not required Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions Physical capability to perform manual labor including lifting, bending, walking, and standing for extended periods Willingness to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays as needed Basic understanding of turf care practices or eagerness to learn Ability to follow instructions and work both independently and as part of a team Valid driver's license may be required depending on location Working Conditions Outdoor environment with exposure to heat, cold, rain, and sun Physical demands including lifting up to 50 pounds, prolonged standing/walking, and repetitive motions Early morning shifts common to support course operations Operation of mechanical equipment and tools Schedule may include weekends and holidays American Golf Corporation is committed to equal employment opportunities for all.
