$22.00•25.00 per hour, based on experience

Full-Time Position Summary We are seeking an experienced Landscape Technician to join our team at the U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs. This position is responsible for maintaining high-quality landscapes and grounds throughout the property. The ideal candidate will have previous professional landscaping experience and experience with snow removal and plowing . Because this position is located on a military installation, candidates must also be able to successfully complete the required background screening. Responsibilities Perform general landscape and grounds maintenance Mow, trim, edge, and maintain turf areas Maintain landscape beds, shrubs, trees, and other plant material Perform seasonal cleanup and property maintenance Operate commercial landscaping equipment and hand tools Operate snow removal and plowing equipment during winter weather Apply ice melt and assist with keeping designated areas safe during snow and ice events Perform basic equipment inspections and report maintenance needs Follow company and Air Force Academy safety and security requirements Work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions Complete other landscape and grounds-related duties as assigned Qualifications Previous professional landscaping experience required Previous snow plowing/snow removal experience required Experience operating commercial landscape equipment preferred Ability to safely operate trucks, plows, mowers, and other equipment as assigned Ability to perform physically demanding outdoor work, including lifting, bending, walking, and standing for extended periods Dependable and able to report to work during snow and winter weather events Must be able to successfully pass the background screening required for access to the U.S. Air Force Academy Candidates with recent felony convictions may not meet installation access/background requirements Valid driver's license preferred Compensation $22.00•25.00 per hour , depending on landscaping, equipment operation, and snow-plowing experience.
