Growing Northern Colorado commercial construction company looking for the next vital member of our team who understands and can responsibly keep a service shop and construction yard clean organized and help with other duties such as light mechanical work on heavy equipment and trucks. HPC's Construction Service Yard/Maintenance person is responsible for the maintenance of yard and related facilities, including such duties as manually loading and unloading materials, operating mechanical loading equipment, preparing materials and equipment for installation, and keeping accurate records of the receipt and issue of stores items. Oil changes, cleaning and other mechanical service duties assigned. A supervisor issues oral instructions covering the major aspects of work; however, employees are required to use some judgement in applying methods to their assignments.

TYPICAL DUTIES

Minimum Qualifications:

Experience in the construction equipment Reliable daily transportation to and from work. Clean driving record and 21 yrs of age or older Ability to take direction from supervisors and other management officials. General service knowledge of vehicles

Additional Desirable Qualifications:

Forklift operation Equipment mechanical knowledge

Special Requirements:

Ability to work overtime if needed by management

Physical Requirements:

Stand for at least a full 8-hour shift. Able to climb in and around heavy equipment and trucks Able to lift at least 50 lbs.

Working Environment:

Work is performed inside and outside in all weather conditions. On occasion, work is performed in potentially adverse weather conditions.

KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES AND SKILLS

• Ability to learn the storekeeping practices and procedures applicable to construction yard operations.
• Some knowledge of the care and safe operation of assigned equipment
• Ability to repair small tools and simple machinery.
• Ability to understand and execute oral and written instructions.
• Ability to maintain simple records.
• Sufficient physical strength and agility to perform the job
• Some knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions applicable to the work.
