Bay Line Construction is seeking to fill the position of . Our main service territory is DE, MD and VA, but this position will be required to travel as needed. Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Candidates will assist Substation Crew Members with new construction and repair/perform maintenance for electrical high and low voltage substations.
• This includes trenching, installing conduit, pulling cable, wiring of outdoor electrical equipment, installing ground grids, installing foundations, pouring/finishing concrete, setting steel structures, installing buswork and conductors, setting and adjusting switches, installing circuit breakers, and other required substation construction and maintenance tasks.
• Operate aerial lifts, forklifts, skid steers, backhoes, excavators, boom trucks, and other equipment used in the construction of electrical substations.
• Must know and understand state and local laws, DOT, and OSHA standards
• Perform services in a safe and timely manner.
• Maintain company equipment in a safe and efficient manner
• Excavates to assist in the installation of structures or cables as required by contract specification.
• Assists with assembling material on the ground to be installed by Technician and assists with the installation.
• Works from the ground and clears all work areas to maintain safe job site conditions.
• Participates in company training of all regional safety guidelines and is required to perform all work by the regional safety policies.
• Operates various tools for the work (manual digging devices, wrenches, hammers, drills, come-along, jackhammer, power tamp, and handling, etc.).
• Works around excessive noise from machines, jackhammers, saws, and other equipment with proper hearing protection.
• Works around hazardous and near energized parts or equipment.
• All other duties as required or requested by Supervisors.

Requirements:

• Valid Driver's License with Clean Driving Record Required
• Class A Commercial Driver's License Required within 3 months of employment
• Effective communication skills
• Be able to lift/move 50 pound
• Pass a pre-employment drug screen, physical, and background check
• Must be 21 years of age or older.

Education and Experience:

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Able to work with hands above head for extended periods of time.
• Able to follow directions, work safely & productively
• Able to work long hours and overtime during holidays, emergencies, weekends, etc.

Subject to call-out work.

Travel Requirements:

Must be willing to travel out of state for routine and emergency work as needed.
