Overview In the role of Facilities-Gardener, you'll prepare event spaces, fix things around our 62 year old property, as well as perform general gardening duties including planting, weeding, pruning, fertilizing, mulching and mowing the lawn. Our small but mighty team does as much as we can ourselves and is looking for your expertise. If you're interested in a great workplace and regular hours. The position is responsible for cleaning, maintaining and setting up public and service areas and equipment for visitors, staff and volunteers. Under general supervision you will maintain the positive appearance of the Gardens.

Responsibilities :

Maintain and care for a wide variety of plants, flowers, trees, and landscaping features throughout the garden Maintain and set up public and service areas and equipment for events Ensure working function and positive presentation of the Garden facilities

Qualifications :

Previous experience as handyman or craftsmen with technical expertise Experience gardening is preferred but not required Ability to work independently and as part of a team Strong attention to detail and a love for plants and nature Must be able to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) and perform physical tasks such as bending, kneeling, and standing for long periods. Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions. Strong communication skills and a positive attitude. A valid driver's license may be required for transportation of materials, depending on the position.

Physical Requirements :

Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds.

Pay:

$21.00 - $25.65 per hour Expected hours: 32.0 - 40.0 per week
