Overview Join our dynamic team as a Tree Trimmer/Groundsperson and play a vital role in maintaining healthy, safe, and beautiful urban and rural landscapes. This energetic position offers the opportunity to work outdoors in a fast-paced environment, utilizing specialized equipment and techniques to care for trees and surrounding greenery. You will be instrumental in executing tree trimming, removal, and planting projects while adhering to safety standards and environmental best practices. Whether you're experienced in horticulture or eager to develop your skills in arboriculture, this role provides a fulfilling pathway to grow your expertise in tree care and landscaping. Duties Assist with tree trimming, pruning, and removal using chainsaws, rigging techniques, and bucket lifts to ensure safety and precision. Operate bucket lifts safely for elevated work, supporting arborists with access to high branches. Perform rigging tasks for tree removal or branch management, utilizing arborist rigging techniques to prevent damage or injury. Conduct plant pruning care, shaping trees and shrubs to promote healthy growth and aesthetic appeal. Support landscape maintenance activities such as lawn care, planting, and general landscaping tasks to enhance site appearance. Follow strict safety protocols during all outdoor work activities, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Use GIS (Geographic Information Systems) tools for mapping or site planning when required. Assist with tree care assessments by applying dendrology knowledge—study of trees—to identify health issues or hazards. Experience Prior outdoor work experience preferred, especially in landscaping, horticulture, or arboriculture environments. Familiarity with tree removal techniques and arborist rigging methods is highly desirable. Experience operating bucket lifts or similar equipment is a plus. Knowledge of safety procedures related to chainsaw operation and climbing gear is essential. Basic understanding of plant pruning care, tree trimming practices, and general landscaping principles is beneficial. Growing experience in horticulture or dendrology will support your success in this role. Ability to work effectively outdoors in various weather conditions while maintaining attention to detail and safety standards. Driver's license required. $20.00 - $24.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
