Role Summary The Onsite Golf Course Irrigation Technician supports golf operations and services, including golf course maintenance, day-to-day operation of the Golf Courses, Golf Course Maintenance Department, Pro Shop, Driving Range, etc. Responsibilities Turns irrigation systems on and off as designated Repairs and replaces hoses, pipes, and numerous types of sprinkler heads and fixture Operates timers, clocks, and controls for sprinklers Replaces or repairs irrigation valves Installs or repairs irrigation lines May assist in various maintenance activities as required Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices Performs snow removal, as required Assists in responding to golf course maintenance requests and homeowner concerns and problems. Ensures that the golf course facilities and associated facilities are maintained in accordance with acceptable maintenance standards. Frequent use of golf carts and association vehicles. Takes appropriate action to ensure that unsafe practices or conditions are corrected. Qualifications Ability to install, operate, troubleshoot, and repair manual and/or computerized irrigation systems Ability to follow routine verbal and written instructions Ability to perform maintenance and groundskeeper procedures Ability to understand and follow specific instructions and procedures Ability to perform irrigation tasks such as operating timers, clocks, and controls for sprinklers Knowledge of manual and/or computerized irrigation systems Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures Valid and clean driving history Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday. Ability to climb stairs, ladders, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, or reach frequently. Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull objects up to 50 pounds regularly and occasionally heavier with assistance. Manual dexterity to operate tools, equipment, and machinery safely. Visual acuity to inspect equipment, read gauges, and perform detailed tasks. Hearing ability to detect alarms, equipment sounds, and verbal instructions in noisy environments. Ability to work in varying environmental conditions (heat, cold, dust, noise, outdoors). Ability to wear and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE). Ability to work varying schedules, including evenings, weekends, on-call, and overtime as required.
