Electrical Ground Support Engineer

Job Description

Seeking an Electrical Ground Support Engineer (EGSE) to join our team. In this role you will design Electrical Ground Support Equipment used to support the Sustainable Lunar Development (SLD) Space Systems. Design Electrical Umbilical & Disconnect Systems, and design Electrical Control systems Other Responsibilities include:
  • Apply standard engineering methods for the design, development, and verification of data collection and control systems used in either flight component testing or ground launch support facilities.
  • Develop and release artifacts following the facility lifecycle plan as well as maintaining configuration management of operational systems.
  • Design, develop, and maintain instrumentation, power supply architecture or controls systems.
  • Automate manufacturing or similar processes through the use of instrumentation or controls systems.
  • Develop new and modify existing PLC or HMI applications, interfaces, or embedded controls.
  • Participate in the set-up and commissioning of new facilities or upgrading of existing facilities.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve malfunctions and make recommendations that will improve efficiency or quality of operations.
  • Document specifications and operating procedures.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent experience. 2+ years of experience in one or more of the following areas: o Ground-Up Design & Operations of Vehicle Power & Control Systems o Vehicle Electrical Umbilical & Disconnect Systems o Data Recording Systems o Simulator Designs for Ground & Vehicle Systems o Control Systems o Industrial control system design using Rockwell or Siemens hardware o Cable design using
MIL-SPEC
connectors
Preferred Qualifications:
Working Knowledge of
AFSPCMAN-9710.
Familiarity with 38999, 5015, RNJ and other
MIL-SPEC
connectors. Familiarity with industrial control systems from Rockwell or Siemens. Familiarity with IPC620. Familiarity with NASA certification processes for EGSE systems Familiarity with Autocad Electrical 2024. Competent in the use of Microsoft Office Products including Excel and PowerPoint. Ability to apply NEC electrical standards and NASA regulations for hazardous systems, as they affect requirements development, system activation, final certification, and operations/maintenance.

Background Check and US Citizen Ship Pay:
$95,000.00 - $123,000.00 per year
