Landscape Installation & Horticulture Technician — starting at $22.50/hr, higher with experience. Full-time

• Tallahassee, FL Bloom Garden Co. is hiring an experienced landscape technician for our field team.

The work alternates by week:

one week is detailed horticultural care at established properties (weeding, pruning, planting, plant-health checks), the next is installing custom landscape designs created by our in-house design team. If you know plants, take pride in detailed work, and are comfortable on equipment, this is a role with real variety and room to grow. What you'll do — Landscape installation Read landscape plans and build them into finished installations that match the design Prepare, amend, and grade soil and planting beds Install trees, shrubs, perennials, mulch, decorative gravel, and edging Complete final grading, cleanup, and finishing details Horticultural care Weed and maintain landscape beds to a high standard Prune shrubs, ornamentals, perennials, and small trees using proper techniques Evaluate plant health and recognize pests, disease, watering problems, and nutrient or environmental stress Divide, transplant, and replace plant material On every job Keep sites, trucks, trailers, and tools clean and organized Communicate progress, material needs, and property concerns to the Foreman Follow all company and job-site safety procedures Work professionally with customers and coworkers; help lead a crew when assigned Equipment You'll regularly operate tractors and attachments, mini skid steers, zero-turn mowers, trucks with landscape trailers, and hand and power tools. Experience with most of these is preferred — we'll train the right person on the rest. What we're looking for Professional experience in landscaping, horticulture, or grounds maintenance (required) Working knowledge of plants, proper pruning, and common plant-health issues (required) Valid driver's license, clean insurable driving record, and comfort towing a landscape trailer (required) Experience installing professionally designed landscapes (strongly preferred) Experience operating tractors, mini skid steers, and zero-turn mowers (preferred) Strong attention to detail, dependable, punctual, and efficient without cutting corners Able to lift 50 lbs and work outdoors in heat, cold, rain, and changing weather Pay and growth Starting at $22.50/hr, higher with experience and demonstrated skill Performance and pay review after 90 days Opportunity to grow into installation lead, horticulture, and crew leadership roles We want someone who can move confidently between precise horticultural care and full landscape installations — observant, dependable, and committed to work that looks good and lasts.
