Job Description

Job Summary Overall day to day care of the golf course maintenance at the direction of the Superintendent, performing duties necessary to maintain optimal course conditions. Performs a variety of routine groundskeeping and equipment operating tasks. Provide members with a course and practice areas which provide excellent playing conditions and exceptional turf management in a manner consistent with membership and team policies, practices and goals.
Essential Functions:
Maintains golf course by mowing, trimming, top dressing, treating turf, maintenance of bunkers, hole changing, hedge trimming, and general maintenance. Operates golf course equipment. Participates in daily set up of the golf course for play. Mows greens, tees, aprons and approaches to greens, roughs, and other areas of the golf course. Aerifies greens, verticuts tees and greens, as assigned. Prepare and plant sod as assigned. Keeps golf course maintenance equipment fueled, oiled, and inspected. Ensures a pleasant visit for each member and guest. Performs special projects delegated by management. Stays updated on latest developments pertinent to the department as well as the location. Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Working knowledge of standard golf course maintenance practices or a desire to learn quickly while performing the job. Ability to operate and maintain a variety of mowers and other golf grounds maintenance equipment. Ability to perform a variety of unskilled to semi-skilled golf course maintenance duties. Knowledge of safe and efficient use of all types of golf course equipment.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and use hands and fingers to handle or feel. The employee frequently is required to reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit; walk; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus. Pay:
$17.00 - $18.00 per hour
