Job Description
Position Summary :
The Crew Member is responsible for supporting daily lawn care and landscaping operations to ensure high-quality service and customer satisfaction. This position involves performing a variety of outdoor tasks including mowing, edging, trimming, planting, mulching, and general landscape maintenance. Crew Members work as part of a team to complete assigned projects efficiently, safely and according to company standards. This role requires the ability to operate basic landscaping equipment, following directions, and maintain a strong work ethic in various weather conditions. Crew Members are expected to demonstrate professionalism, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining clean, attractive outdoor spaces for clients. Core Responsibilities The essential responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:- Perform routine lawn maintenance, including mowing, edging, trimming, blowing, and debris removal
- Assist with landscaping projects such as planting, mulching, sod installation, and garden bed maintenance
- Operate and maintain landscaping equipment (e.g., mowers, trimmers, blowers) in a safe and efficient manner
- Follow instructions from crew leaders and supervisors to complete assigned tasks accurately and on time
- Load and unload tools, equipment, and materials for daily job assignments
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of job sites, trucks, and equipment
- Identify and report any equipment issues, property concerns, or safety hazards to supervisors
- Ensure all work is completed according to company standards and client expectations
- Adhere to all safety guidelines, policies, and procedures while on job sites
- Provide courteous and professional interactions with clients and team members
- Assist with seasonal tasks such as leaf removal, irrigation support, and storm clean-up as needed
- Work efficiently as part of a team to meet daily production goals
- Any additional assigned tasks Qualifications
- Must possess or be able to obtain a valid and appropriate state driver's license or ID prior to employment
- Knowledge of proper use of equipment, materials and supplies used in lawn care and landscaping work
- Ability to communicate orally and in writing
- Ability to use equipment and tools properly and safely
- Ability to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions
Physical Demands and Work Environment Physical Demands:
- Ability to perform physically demanding work for extended periods of time
- Frequently lift, carry, push, and pull materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds or more
- Prolonged standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, and repetitive motions
- Ability to operate landscaping tools and machinery for extended durations
- Ability to work in various positions, including crouching and reaching overhead
- Capability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
Work Environment :
- Work is performed primarily outdoors in various weather conditions, including heat, humidity, rain, and cold temperatures
- Exposure to dust, dirt, pollen, grass clippings, and loud equipment noise
- May require early morning start times and occasional overtime, weekends, or seasonal extended hours
- Regular use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves, safety glasses, ear protection, and steel-toe boots
- Work may be performed on uneven terrain, slopes, and varying landscape conditions
- Frequent travel between job sites throughout the workday
