Monday-Thursday preferred; occasional Friday work as needed Position Overview Augusta Landworks is seeking an experienced, dependable, and physically capable Heavy Equipment Operator / Landscaping & Grounds Crew Member. This is NOT a position where you will sit in a machine all day. The person hired for this role must be willing and able to operate heavy equipment and perform hands-on landscaping, lawn care, grounds maintenance, cleanup, and general labor as needed. Our work varies from day to day. Some days may involve several hours operating a skid steer or excavator. Other days may require mowing, weed eating, landscaping, spreading mulch, planting, cleanup, grading by hand, moving materials, or assisting the crew on the ground. We need someone who understands that being an equipment operator at Augusta Landworks means being part of the entire crew. Equipment You May Operate Primary equipment includes: Kubota SVL97-2 Compact Track Loader Kubota KX057 Excavator Skid steers and compact track loaders Excavators Zero-turn mowers Bush hogging equipment Mini skid steers Tractors Grapples Buckets Brush cutters Augers ChainSaw / Groundsman Grading attachments Other landscaping and construction equipment Heavy Equipment Responsibilities Safely operate the Kubota SVL97-2 and KX057. Perform rough and finish grading. Excavate trenches. Backfill and compact excavated areas. Install and spread gravel. Perform land clearing and site preparation. Remove brush, small trees, stumps, and debris. Load trucks and trailers. Perform drainage and ditch work. Assist with underground utility excavation. Perform light demolition and debris removal. Maintain proper slopes and grades. Work safely around buildings, utilities, fences, landscaping, and other obstacles. Landscaping & Lawn Care Responsibilities This position also requires regular hands-on grounds and landscaping work, including: Mowing commercial and residential properties. Operating zero-turn mowers. Weed eating and string trimming. Edging sidewalks, driveways, curbs, and landscape beds. Blowing off sidewalks, parking areas, and properties. Shrub and hedge trimming. Pruning small trees and ornamental plants. Mulch installation. Pine straw installation. Rock and decorative stone installation. Landscape-bed preparation. Planting shrubs, flowers, and small trees. Removing weeds and unwanted vegetation. Spreading topsoil and soil amendments. Raking and hand grading. Grass seed and straw installation. Property cleanup. Storm cleanup. Leaf and debris removal. Picking up limbs and brush. Loading and unloading landscaping materials. General property maintenance. General Labor Is Part of This Position Applicants should understand that equipment operation is only one part of this job. When the machine is not needed, you will be expected to get out and work with the rest of the crew.

Required Experience Applicants should have professional experience in one or more of the following: Heavy equipment operation Skid steer operation Excavator operation Landscaping Lawn maintenance Grading Excavation Land clearing Site preparation Tree work Grounds maintenance Drainage Gravel installation Candidates with strong equipment operating skills who also have professional landscaping or lawn-care experience will receive priority consideration. Minimum Qualifications Previous professional equipment operating or landscaping experience. Ability and willingness to perform physical labor. Ability to safely operate equipment. Ability to work independently after receiving instructions. Ability to work outdoors in heat, cold, dust, mud, and changing weather conditions. Ability to lift and carry landscaping and construction materials. Valid driver's license. Reliable transportation. Dependable attendance and punctuality. Ability to follow safety procedures. Ability to take care of company equipment and tools. Preferred Qualifications 3+ years of construction, landscaping, or equipment operating experience. Experience operating compact track loaders. Experience operating 5-7 ton excavators. Experience with finish grading. Experience with commercial lawn maintenance. Experience operating zero-turn mowers. Experience with landscaping installation. Experience with tree and land-clearing work. Experience loading and unloading equipment. CDL or towing experience is a plus.
