Job Description

•All applicants must complete an application on the district's website at www.gcssk12.net under the Employment webpage. 1. Maintains Athletic Fields and Stadium Grounds. Includes mowing, edging, trimming and blowing debris / leaves. General landscaping duties. 2. Maintains all equipment and tools in good working order. 3. Safely loads, unloads, and secures all equipment, tools, and other items to be transported, either by vehicle or trailer. 4. Works on irrigation systems and fertilization of fields 5. Paint football, baseball and soccer fields. 6. Equipment use - mowers ( riding and walk behind ), reel mowers, trimmers, edgers, skid steer, tractor and various equipment. 7. Routinely climb, balance, stop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. 8. Routinely lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. 9. Works indoors and outdoors with exposure to weather including cold, heat, wet, and high humidity. 10. Follows written and oral instructions. 11. Completes carpentry work as assigned. Examples include, but not limited to: Cabinetry Bookshelves Minor renovations. 12. Completes plumbing work as assigned. Examples include, but not limited to:

Repair toilets, sinks, water lines, sewer lines, etc. 13. Completes electrical work as assigned. Examples include, but not limited to: Repair lights, receptacles and switches Wire new circuits Wire small structures such as field houses and press boxes. 14. Operates maintenance machinery in a safe manner. 15. Follows the standard purchasing procedure for the school system. 16. Demonstrates prompt and regular attendance. 17. Acts in a professional manner and maintains a professional attitude toward the public and colleagues and exhibits the fundamentals of public/customer service. 18. Maintains confidentiality and adheres to the chain of command. 19. Maintains a professional appearance as appropriate for job responsibilities. 20. Takes initiative and assumes responsibility for all aspects of the job; performs routine duties and tasks with little or no direct supervision. 21. Remains on call during after hours, weekends and holidays. 22. Performs all other duties, and assumes all other school or system related responsibilities, as assigned by the Maintenance Director.
