Job Description
Job Summary The Grounds Maintenance Worker is responsible for ensuring the upkeep and aesthetic quality of outdoor spaces. This role involves a variety of tasks related to lawn care, landscaping, and general maintenance of grounds. The ideal candidate will possess mechanical knowledge and experience with various tools and equipment necessary for effective grounds maintenance. Responsibilities Perform lawn care activities including mowing, trimming, and edging to maintain a neat appearance. Conduct right-of-way mowing. Operate hand tools, power tools, and machinery including trimmers, weed eaters, blowers, chainsaws, tractors, side by side for various projects. Assist in the installation and maintenance of fencing, pipe install, driveway and retention materials to ensure proper mitigation. Carry out tree care duties including tree trimming and removal as needed. Maintain hardscape features such as patios, walkways, and retaining walls. Follow all safety rules and regulations. Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently and effectively. Ensure all equipment is properly maintained and stored after use. Qualifications Proven experience in grounds maintenance or related fields such as right of way maintenance and grounds maintenance is preferred. Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to operate various power tools and machinery safely. Familiarity with right of way mowing techniques, tree care practices, and fencing principles. Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting heavy objects and working outdoors in varying weather conditions. Knowledge of safety protocols related to grounds maintenance activities. A valid driver's license may be required for operating company vehicles or transporting equipment.
