Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Groundskeeper to join our housing authority team. In this important role, the Groundskeeper will be responsible for maintaining the exterior appearance, cleanliness, safety, and curb appeal of housing authority properties, common areas, walkways, parking lots, dumpster areas, and landscaped grounds. The ideal candidate will take pride in keeping the property clean, safe, and welcoming for residents, visitors, staff, and vendors. This position requires reliability, attention to detail, the ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions, and a professional, customer-service focused attitude. Duties
- Maintain the overall cleanliness, safety, and appearance of property grounds, including common areas, sidewalks, parking lots, breezeways, entryways, trash rooms, dumpster areas, and other exterior spaces.
- Perform routine groundskeeping and lawn care duties, including picking up trash and debris, disposing of bulk items, mowing, edging, trimming, blowing, raking, weeding, and assisting with flower beds, shrubs, mulch areas, and basic landscaping.
- Conduct daily exterior inspections to support curb appeal and promptly report safety hazards, property damage, maintenance concerns, abandoned items, pest concerns, or unusual activity to the supervisor and management office.
- Assist the maintenance team with basic property upkeep, exterior preparation, and keeping walkways, parking areas, and common spaces free of debris and potential hazards.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and assigned work areas in a clean, safe, and organized manner while following all safety procedures, housing authority policies, and applicable property standards.
- Provide respectful and professional customer service when interacting with residents, staff, vendors, and visitors.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
