Groundskeeper Job Summary:

This position is primarily responsible for maintaining the grounds by performing the duties outlined below. Assist with other projects as assigned by the Property Manager or Assistant Manager Reports to:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Core duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Basic Duties

• Responsible for helping maintain the entire property in an attractive, comfortable condition.
• Clean interior and exterior areas of buildings and apartments on our campus on a daily basis, as well as performing additional seasonal cleaning tasks.
• Pick up and remove trash and debris from the property and dispose of it appropriately on a daily basis. Remove snow in winter conditions and keep outdoor areas safe during bad weather, including spreading salt on walkways and steps.
• Perform light excavation, using shovels, picks and other tools to dig trenches and level ground.
• Maintain garden areas and property grounds by picking up trash and debris.
• Contact the appropriate technicians and specialists for maintenance jobs that the groundskeeper cannot do alone.
• Ensuring pathways, stairs, breezeways, outdoor seating and other structures are safe and clean.
• Observe apartment conditions and reports unusual activity (size/breed/# of pets; unauthorized occupants, illegal activity, etc.)
• Observe overall condition and appearance of property & reports any issues
• Follows company policies & procedures regarding safety and emergencies
• Wears company uniform & badge during work hours
