Job Description

Our Botanical Garden is home to over 2,000 plant species, representing more than 125 families and 750 genera. As a valued member of our garden team, you will contribute to the stewardship and ongoing care of our horticultural collection. Key responsibilities include maintaining a safe and organized work environment within the nursery, and assisting in daily gardening operations such as: Landscaping and general plant maintenance Pest management and invasive species control Watering, fertilization, and soil care Operation of gas-powered equipment and hand tools You will also support larger projects as assigned by the Garden Manager. This position requires a high level of accountability, integrity, and teamwork to ensure the continued success of the garden's mission. This position is full time at 40hrs/ week with weekend shifts. The work week is negotiable at either 4/10hr days, or 5/8hr days. Qualifications Available to work weekends High school diploma or equivalent required Ability to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted and 70 lbs assisted Comfortable working outdoors in variable weather and on uneven terrain Strong ability to follow both written and verbal instructions Reliable, efficient, and detail-oriented work ethic Team player with strong interpersonal and communication skills Adaptable and capable of overcoming challenges in the field Proficient and safe in operating string trimmers, blowers, sickles, and various other garden tools Prior experience in a garden, nursery, or horticultural setting preferred
