As a Landscape Maintenance Technician 1, you will have the invaluable opportunity to shadow and learn from experienced landscape maintenance technicians and landscape maintenance crew leaders. Your role will involve assisting the landscape maintenance team with various tasks such as pruning, planting, mulching, weeding, and other landscape maintenance duties. This entry-level position will not only provide you with hands-on experience but also introduce you to basic horticultural knowledge, laying the foundation for your growth in the field.Key Responsibilities:
Horticultural Knowledge:
o Learn and expand your basic horticultural and landscape maintenance knowledge under the guidance of experienced professionals.Plant Disease Identification and Treatment:
o Begin to identify common landscape plant diseases and assist in developing treatment plans to maintain plant health.Proper Maintenance Practices:
o Start to recognize proper landscape maintenance practices and their specific remedies to ensure the long-term well-being of landscapes.Maintenance Tasks:
o Complete basic landscape maintenance tasks, including pruning, planting, mulching, weeding, and other duties as assigned.Client and Job Documentation:
o Maintain accurate client and job notes to track work completed, special instructions, and any client-specific requirements.Safety Compliance:
o Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and your colleagues.Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Clean criminal record.
- Strong interest in horticulture and landscaping.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new techniques and practices.
- Detail-oriented with a strong work ethic.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation (if required for the role).

Advancement:
- Complete at least one season (or the equivalent of one full season) of shadowing a level 2 or greater Maintenance Technician.
- Complete a 30, 60, and 90-day review with the Recruiter and Production Manager.
- Master basic landscape maintenance knowledge including, but not limited to: o Proper pruning techniques o Proper planting techniques o Basic landscape plant disease identification o Basic horticultural knowledge
