Job Description
Tree Service Groundsman / Ground Crew Overview We are looking for a dependable, hardworking Groundsman / Ground Crew Member to join our professional tree service team. This is a hands-on outdoor position supporting climbers and crew leaders with tree removals, pruning, storm cleanup, rigging, and general job-site operations. The ideal candidate is safety-minded, physically capable, dependable, and comfortable working around trees, chainsaws, ropes, and tree-removal operations. Previous tree-service experience is preferred, but we are also willing to consider motivated individuals who are ready to learn and work hard. Experience operating a crane, skid steer, or excavator is a major plus. Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist climbers and crew leaders with tree removals, pruning, trimming, and storm-damage cleanup
- Drag, move, and process brush, limbs, logs, and debris
- Operate chainsaws and other tree-care tools safely and efficiently
- Assist with ropes, lowering lines, rigging equipment, and controlled limb and tree removal
- Maintain a clean and organized job site throughout the workday
- Load and move logs, brush, debris, and equipment as needed
- Assist with general job-site cleanup
- Perform basic equipment inspections and help keep tools and equipment properly maintained
- Set up cones, signs, and work zones when working near roadways or public areas
- Follow all company safety procedures
- Communicate effectively with climbers, equipment operators, crew leaders, and other team members
- Perform physically demanding outdoor work in varying weather conditions Preferred Experience & Qualifications
- Previous experience with a tree service, arborist crew, logging operation, land-clearing company, or similar outdoor trade preferred
- Experience safely operating and maintaining chainsaws
- Familiarity with tree-removal procedures, ropes, knots, rigging, and lowering techniques is a plus
- Knowledge of basic tree identification, pruning, and tree-care practices is helpful
- Ability to safely lift, carry, drag, and move heavy materials throughout the workday
- Comfortable working around active tree-removal operations and heavy equipment
- Must be dependable, punctual, safety-conscious, and able to work well as part of a crew
- Valid driver's license preferred Equipment Experience — Major Plus Experience operating any of the following is a strong advantage:
- Crane
- Skid steer
- Excavator Applicants with experience operating this equipment safely and efficiently may qualify for additional responsibilities and compensation depending on experience.
Pay:
$15.00- $45.
