Job Description

Position:
Custodial/Grounds Person Reports to:
Grounds Supervisor Qualifications:
High School Diploma Current and valid Illinois driver's license
Grounds' Maintenance Experience Terms of Employment:
Twelve-Month Employee Basic Function:
Under the direction of the Grounds' Supervisor or designee, duties include, but are not limited to, the upkeep and cleanliness of all buildings and grounds as assigned. Must have some horticultural experience and be mechanically inclined.
Performance Responsibilities:
Avail himself/herself for snow removal as directed by the Grounds Supervisor. Upkeep of all athletic fields, physical education fields, lawns, shrubbery, trees, walkways, parking areas, and playground areas. Mowing, trimming, and the proper painting/line marking of all athletic fields and physical education fields for all District Facilities, and additional job assignments. Properly maintain and operate all grounds equipment. May be required to work off-shift hours on an emergency basis. Makes recommendations as to needed equipment or supplies. Will be required to perform custodial duties as needed and is responsible to the Principal or Head Custodian of any school that the Grounds' Supervisor assigns. May be required by federal or state regulations to be certified in weed control chemicals. Keeps all necessary records of time spent and materials used, so that proper accounts may be charged. Keep district used vehicles and equipment clean and organized. Use safe work practices for all work being performed. Capable of supporting or lifting up to 100 pounds. Responsible for properly maintaining athletic stadium buildings and grounds after all scheduled events. Transportation of various types of food products, U.S. and in-district mail, school supplies, maintenance supplies, and other supplies that may be needed throughout the district facilities. Responsible for setting up chairs, tables, audio, and visual equipment for all events as requested. Perform other duties that may be assigned.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS
Report directly to the Grounds' Supervisor or designee. Cooperate with all certified and non-certified personnel, students, and parents.

Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with the provisions of the Board's policy on Evaluation of Professional Personnel.

$19.75 per hour
