We are seeking experienced landscape subcontractors to complete residential and commercial outdoor property service jobs throughout Chicago and nearby Cook County communities. This is a paid, project-based 1099 contractor role. It is not an hourly, salaried, or W-2 employee position. We are looking specifically for established contractors, owner-operators, or crews that already have landscaping or outdoor-property-service experience, their own equipment and transportation, and the ability to complete accepted customer jobs professionally. If you are primarily looking for hourly employment where an employer provides the truck, tools, equipment, and daily schedule, this is not the correct opening. Pay Pay is project-based and established before each accepted job. Smaller maintenance, cleanup, lawn-care, and property-service jobs may typically range from: $200 to $1,500 per completed project Larger landscaping, drainage, grading, hardscape, installation, or property-improvement projects may pay more depending on: Scope of work Materials Service type Location Equipment required Crew requirements Agreed job terms There is no guaranteed number of projects or guaranteed weekly income. Contractors are not required to accept every project offered. What You'll Do Depending on your company's services and equipment, work may include: Lawn mowing Edging and trimming Blowing and cleanup Spring and fall property cleanups Leaf and debris removal Mulch installation Garden-bed maintenance Shrub and hedge trimming Plant installation Sod installation Lawn restoration Small tree and branch removal Junk and outdoor-property cleanup Drainage Grading Irrigation Paver patios Walkways Retaining walls Residential grounds maintenance Commercial property maintenance Snow and ice-related services when available You do not need to perform every service listed. Responsibilities Selected contractors are responsible for: Completing accepted jobs safely and professionally Providing their own labor Providing their own transportation Providing tools and equipment appropriate for the work accepted Following agreed job instructions and scope Arriving as scheduled Communicating professionally Taking work photos when requested Reporting scope changes before additional work is performed Maintaining required insurance Providing required contractor documentation Leaving customer properties clean after work is completed Contractor Requirements Applicants should: Already operate a landscaping, lawn-care, property-maintenance, hardscape, irrigation, tree-service, snow-removal, or related outdoor-service business Be an owner, operator, or authorized company representative Have professional outdoor-property-service experience Have their own reliable transportation Have appropriate tools and equipment Be able to provide a completed Form W-9 Have business general liability insurance or be able to obtain the required coverage before starting Have capacity to complete additional project-based customer work Be able to communicate professionally with customers and support staff Service Area This opening focuses on Chicago and nearby Cook County communities, including areas such as: Southwest Chicago West Chicago neighborhoods Cicero Berwyn Oak Park Forest Park Burbank Bridgeview Summit Bedford Park Evergreen Park Nearby Chicago and Cook County communities Applicants will be asked to identify the specific cities, ZIP codes, and travel radius they can reliably service.
