The Grounds Person is responsible for maintaining the district grounds in a clean, safe, and orderly condition. This role helps ensure the outdoor environment is well-maintained and promotes the health, safety and well-being of students, staff, and visitors.

Qualifications :

High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Maintains a valid Illinois Driver's License and obtains and maintains all required certifications and training relevant to the position, as deemed necessary by the Executive Director of Facilities. Ability to obtain and maintain applicable certifications related to pesticide application, equipment operation, and snow removal activities as required. Ability to safely operate and transport equipment including mowers, tractors, skid steers, utility vehicles, snow plows, spreaders, trailers, and other grounds maintenance equipment. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong communication and customer skills. Ability to prioritize work assignments and respond to changing operational needs. Ability to perform physically demanding work in all weather conditions. Tasks involve the ability to exert physical effort in heavy work, typically involving some combination of climbing and balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and the lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling of heavy objects and materials up to 50 pounds independently.
