This role has primary responsibility and accountability for the necessary work in the installation of lawns and landscapes with some work in maintenance of lawns and landscapes. The work includes executing the design of grounds services installation, often times going beyond maintenance. Work may include assisting other teams such as buildings maintenance and event setup and teardown as directed. The Position The candidate must have expertise in light landscaping, grading and yard installation, and irrigation installation and maintenance. This person assists with the day-to-day functions of maintaining and/or installing the lawns and landscape beds of our client's properties under the direction of the crew lead and/or Grounds Services Specialist. This position requires completing equipment and safety procedures to GEN-D's standards. It is important that the person filling this role is able and willing to see a need to meet a need of the client. When necessary, a crew member must communicate needs, workloads and challenges to the crew lead and/or Grounds Services Specialist but also receive direction and make the necessary adjustments and improvements. These responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Perform operational tasks Complete landscape install tasks on residential and commercial properties: a) light hardscape b) grade and install yards c) irrigation experience a plus Complete landscape maintenance tasks on residential and commercial properties: a) mowing b) trimming and/or c) rough grading Comply with safety procedures Receive and perform necessary duties to complete the work assigned Assess and solve problems as they arise Communication with team Clearly communicates operational needs to crew lead works with private contractors to support their work as instructed by crew lead All team members are expected to support the culture of any job, anywhere, anytime The Person The candidate must be Hardworking & agile A collaborative team member yet able to work independently Committed to GEN-D standards Able to represent GEN-D in all day-to-day operations An active listener and willing and able to learn The candidate must Be Hungry, humble, and wise Able to see a need; meet a need Persevere in completing the work Manage up often as necessary Pursue learning for growth Working for GEN-D Services Current hours of employment are Monday through Friday 7:00am to 5:00pm with some evening and weekend hours in peak season, including some holidays Reliable transportation, a valid driver's license (held for at least 2 years), and proper insurance are necessary as occasional use of personal vehicle is required Candidate must be able to perform the physical functions of the position (e.g., lift a minimum of 60lbs, operate heavy equipment, and move into positions to reach into tight spaces)
