Non-Exempt (hourly); overtime paid in accordance with federal and Indiana wage and hour law
Pay:
$16.00-$18.00 per hour, depending on experience Position Summary Hidden Valley Golf Club is seeking a dependable and motivated Golf Course Grounds Skilled Laborer to join our maintenance team. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working outdoors, takes pride in producing quality playing conditions, and wants to be an important part of a small, team-oriented operation. Golf course maintenance experience is preferred, but applicants with landscaping, athletic field, parks, farming, or commercial grounds maintenance experience are encouraged to apply. Primary Responsibilities Mow greens Change cups and set the golf course Mow tees, collars, and approaches Mow fairways and rough Maintain bunkers Blow greens and perform course cleanup Assist with irrigation system operation and repair Assist with tournament preparation Assist with, or perform under supervision, the application of fertilizers, herbicides, and pesticides, following all label instructions and applicable Indiana pesticide regulations Perform general golf course maintenance and other duties as assigned Required Qualifications Must be at least 18 years of age (required to operate powered mowing and grounds equipment) Valid driver's license in good standing Ability to safely operate commercial mowing and grounds maintenance equipment Ability to work independently and as part of a team Must satisfy the Pre-Employment Requirements listed below Preferred Qualifications Prior golf course maintenance experience Experience operating commercial mowing equipment We're Looking for Someone Who Is Dependable and punctual Self-motivated Willing to learn new skills Flexible as daily priorities change Takes pride in producing quality work Positive and team-oriented Physical Requirements and Working Conditions Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, and humidity Ability to lift up to 50 pounds Ability to walk, bend, kneel, and stand for extended periods Exposure to noise, vibration, and moving equipment Potential exposure to fertilizers, herbicides, and pesticides; personal protective equipment (PPE) is provided and required for applicable tasks Schedule Up to 32 hours weekly, including early morning shifts, weekend work, and occasional holidays as required by golf course operations.
