Job Summary Purdue University and its Intercollegiate Athletics Department are looking for an entry-level groundskeeper at the Birck Boilermaker Golf Complex. The candidate must have the ability to build relationships and work among a diverse workforce at all levels. As a golf course groundskeeper, you will perform all general golf turf maintenance operations including mowing, bunker maintenance, hand-trimming, aeration, top-dressing and seeding of new and existing turf. You will become familiar with the operation of all golf turf maintenance equipment and perform general equipment repair.
What We're Looking For:
High school diploma/GED Minimum of 3 years of related work experience or maintenance/ grounds work. The ability to communicate and adhere to University, Big Ten Conference, and NCAA policies, procedures, rules, and regulations is necessary Excellent professionalism in dealing with golf patrons, administrators, coaches and student-athletes Strong organizational and time management skills Motivated individual with the ability to efficiently multi-task, work under pressure, and handle interruptions Competencies in judgment, dependability, accountability, integrity, flexibility, and problem-solving Ability to work independently and in a team environment Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs. and occasionally up to 100 lbs Some weekends, evenings, and holidays will be mandatory
