Job Description
Job Overview Join our dynamic team as a Groundsman/Climber and become a vital part of maintaining and enhancing our urban forestry and landscape environments! In this energetic role, you will be responsible for climbing, pruning, and caring for trees using specialized rigging techniques and equipment. Your expertise will help ensure the safety, health, and aesthetic appeal of trees and landscapes while adhering to strict safety protocols. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work outdoors, develop your arboriculture skills, and contribute to vibrant, healthy green spaces. Duties Climb trees using appropriate rigging techniques to perform pruning, trimming, or removal tasks efficiently and safely Operate bucket trucks and other aerial lift equipment to access high branches or difficult-to-reach areas Perform tree care activities including planting, pruning, shaping, and removing trees with precision and care Use arborist rigging techniques to safely rig and dismantle large or hazardous limbs or trees Conduct landscape maintenance tasks such as lawn care, plant pruning, and general landscaping to support overall site aesthetics Assist with tree removal projects by safely cutting and lowering debris using chainsaws and rigging tools Follow all safety protocols rigorously during outdoor work to prevent accidents and ensure team safety Requirements Proven outdoor work experience with a focus on horticulture, landscaping, or arboriculture Knowledge of tree care practices including pruning, trimming, tree removal, and plant health assessment Experience operating bucket trucks, chainsaws, and other relevant equipment such as rigging gear Familiarity with GIS (Geographic Information Systems) for mapping or site planning is a plus Strong understanding of arborist rigging techniques and tree removal procedures Ability to follow safety guidelines meticulously while working at heights or with heavy machinery Growing experience in horticulture or dendrology (study of trees) is highly desirable Excellent physical fitness for climbing, lifting heavy tools/equipment, and working outdoors in various weather conditions Join us in creating beautiful landscapes while honing your skills in a fast-paced environment!
