Mowing Crew Leader — Lawrence, KS $16-$21 per hour + Full Benefits | Full-Time Are you an experienced lawn-care professional who knows how to get a crew moving, keep quality high, and take pride in a job well done? Schendel Lawn & Landscape is hiring a Mowing Crew Leader in Lawrence. This is a hands-on position for someone who knows commercial and residential mowing and is ready to take ownership of the crew's daily production, equipment, quality, and customer experience. You'll spend your days outdoors leading a mowing crew, operating commercial equipment, maintaining properties to a high standard, and helping your team work safely and efficiently. What you'll do As a Mowing Crew Leader, you'll be responsible for leading your crew through the day's scheduled work and making sure every property meets Schendel's quality standards.

Your responsibilities will include:

Lead and supervise a mowing crew throughout the workday Plan the most efficient order of operations for each property Set the pace for the crew and keep daily production on schedule Operate zero-turn and self-propelled mowers, weed eaters, edgers and blowers Demonstrate proper mowing, trimming and edging techniques Train and coach crew members on safe and efficient equipment operation Monitor the quality of work and correct issues when needed Ensure properties are left neat, clean and manicured according to contract specifications Maintain and care for mowing equipment and report maintenance needs Communicate professionally with customers when needed Promote a safe, productive and positive crew environment Help ensure the crew represents Schendel professionally at every property What we're looking for We're looking for someone who can lead by example and take ownership of the work—not someone who simply knows how to operate a mower. You'll be a strong fit if you: Have experience with commercial or residential lawn mowing Know how to properly operate a zero-turn mower and other lawn-care equipment Understand proper mowing, trimming and edging techniques Can organize a day's work and keep a crew productive Are comfortable teaching and coaching other employees Take pride in quality and attention to detail Are dependable and consistently arrive on time Can communicate professionally with customers and team members Are comfortable working outdoors in varying Kansas weather conditions Can push, pull and lift up to 85 pounds Are able to communicate effectively in English; Spanish is a plus Have a valid driver's license with no major infractions within the past 3-5 years Why work at Schendel?
