Job Description
Job Summary I'm looking for a dependable, hardworking person to help maintain a large home vegetable garden (approximately 1/4 acre). Help the homeowner and play a vital role in cultivating beautiful, healthy outdoor spaces! In this energetic and hands-on position, you will assist with various gardening, landscaping, and grounds maintenance tasks to ensure our gardens thrive. This paid position offers an excellent opportunity to develop horticultural skills while contributing to sustainable landscape practices. Responsibilities Assist with landscape maintenance activities, including weeding garden beds, mowing area, edging, pruning and training vegetable, and mulching to keep gardens neat and vibrant Operate grounds maintenance equipment such as lawnmowers, trimmers, and irrigation systems safely and efficiently Support plant health through proper care and pest management Support planting projects by preparing soil, planting seeds or seedlings, and maintaining growing areas Monitor for pests or diseases affecting plants and implement appropriate plant pest control measures under supervision Communicate effectively with owner about garden conditions and ongoing maintenance needs General garden maintenance Spreading mulch or compost as needed Pushing a wheelbarrow and moving garden materials Basic drip irrigation maintenance and repairs Occasional mowing and other outdoor property maintenance Qualifications Must be physically able to perform outdoor manual labor in summer weather Comfortable lifting, bending, kneeling, and using a wheelbarrow Reliable, punctual, and willing to work independently Gardening experience is helpful but not required if you're willing to learn This role is perfect for motivated individuals eager to develop their gardening expertise while making a positive impact on outdoor spaces.
