Groundskeeper / Maintenance
Technician Job Overview We are seeking a dependable, self-motivated Groundskeeper / Maintenance Technician to help maintain the appearance and functionality of multiple parish properties. This position is responsible for grounds maintenance, landscaping, general facility upkeep, and assisting with maintenance projects to ensure our campus remains safe, clean, and welcoming. The successful candidate enjoys working outdoors, takes pride in quality work, and is able to work independently while contributing to a team environment. Essential Responsibilities Mow, edge, weed eat, trim, and maintain lawns and landscaped areas. Trim hedges, maintain flower beds, and perform general gardening duties. Blow leaves and debris from sidewalks, parking lots, and other outdoor areas. Pick up trash and maintain the cleanliness of all assigned properties. Maintain and care for lawn equipment and tools. Remove debris from drains and sumps and assist with sump pump testing, removal, and installation. Apply weed control to sidewalks, parking lots, roads, and driveways as needed. Water lawns, gardens, and landscaping. Clean gutters and inspect them on a regular basis. Pressure wash sidewalks, concrete surfaces, statues, and other exterior areas as needed. Clean and maintain statues and other outdoor features. Maintain the fountain pond by cleaning filters, adding chlorine, and removing leaves and debris. Remove carpet stains and wax buildup in the church. Prepare parish properties for special events, liturgical celebrations, and seasonal décor changes. Clean the church thoroughly on Fridays in preparation for weekend services. Keep storage areas, maintenance buildings, sheds, and warehouses clean and organized. Assist with painting, janitorial work, carpentry, minor electrical repairs, moving furniture, and other general maintenance duties. Help coordinate and direct volunteers when needed. Order supplies and assist with maintaining an efficient work schedule. Perform other duties as assigned. Responsibilities will include work at multiple parish properties. Qualifications Experience operating commercial lawn and landscaping equipment preferred. General maintenance experience is a plus. Ability to work independently and follow directions. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality work. Self-motivated with good organizational skills. Knowledge of safe work practices and proper equipment operation. Ability to prioritize tasks and adapt to changing needs. Physical Requirements Ability to perform physically demanding work outdoors in varying weather conditions. Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull equipment and materials. Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, and work for extended periods. Ability to safely operate lawn maintenance and maintenance equipment. Applicants must successfully pass a background check and drug test. Schedule This is a full-time position. Occasional overtime, evening, weekend, or holiday work may be required for emergencies, seasonal décor changes, parish events, or special projects. Pay:
$17.00 - $17.50 per hour
