NOW HIRING
Heavy Motor Equipment Operator (HMEO) - Level 3 The Town of Franklin DPW is seeking a Heavy Motor Equipment Operator (HMEO) to support highway, grounds, utilities, and snow/ice operations for a community of 33,000 residents. What You'll Do Deliver top-notch service to the Franklin community.
Operate heavy equipment:
loaders, backhoes, excavators, tractors, Class B trucks w/ plows & sanders, sweepers, rollers, mowers, compressors, etc. Assist with laying pipes, repairing sidewalks, building structures, and maintaining roads. Maintain athletic fields (mowing, lining, seeding, aerating). Plow, shovel, and sand roads, sidewalks & town properties. Perform hands-on labor as part of a hard-working DPW crew. Conduct routine equipment maintenance and follow all safety procedures. Complete required reports and documentation. What You Need MA Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with air brake endorsement MA Hoisting License (DPS 2A, 4E, 4G) to operate loaders, backhoes, catch basin cleaners, etc. Ability to work overtime and respond to emergencies Ability to work in adverse conditions, including wastewater exposure HS diploma/equivalent Ability to pass background check, physical & drug test
Schedule & Pay Highlights Hours:
7:00-3:00 (winter) / 6:30-2:30 (summer)
Callback:
4-hour minimum Differential (Tues-Sat): $75 biweekly
Education Incentive:
Associate's $28.85 / pay period; Bachelor's $38.46 / pay period
Stipends:
Various licensing/certification incentives (CDL endorsements, water/wastewater licenses, arborist, pesticide, ASE, etc.)
Training Incentives:
Roads Scholar & OSHA 30 - one-time $1,000; CDL Trainer $38.47 / pay period
