In this hands-on landscaping and grounds maintenance role, you will perform mowing, trimming, weed whacking, fence repairs, exterior painting and seasonal property maintenance across the farm. You will operate groundskeeping equipment and help ensure the farm remains clean, safe, and welcoming for students, staff, animals, and visitors. During winter months, this position plays a critical role in snow and ice removal operations. This position works a regular 20 hours a week with flexibility required during weather-related and special farm events. Job Responsibilities Participate in the execution of routine maintenance schedules for grounds. Perform mowing, trimming, weed whacking, and trail and general landscape maintenance throughout grounds. Perform fencing and basic property repairs and exterior painting to maintain the safety and appearance of the grounds. Complete seasonal groundskeeping tasks such as leaf removal, mulching, and debris cleanup. Comfortable using hand tools such as shovels, rakes, or saws to complete assignments. Operate power equipment and other vehicles such as tractors, mowers, chainsaws, electric clippers, leaf blowers or other similar machines. Trim trees and vegetation. Install and maintain specialty features such as rock gardens, retaining walls, decks, or playground equipment. Deliver and spread gravel, sand, graded base, and/or topsoil. Collect and discard litter or other waste materials, as needed. Assist in the set up and clean up for various farm events. Participate in snow removal and ice management operations during winter, as needed. Inspect, clean, and perform basic maintenance on grounds equipment to ensure safe operation. Identify and report equipment issues, safety concerns, or property maintenance needs. Support a positive farm experience by maintaining high standards of appearance across the property. Perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications Required 1-3 years of groundskeeping, landscaping, lawn care, or outdoor property maintenance experience. Experience operating groundskeeping and landscaping equipment. Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions throughout all seasons. Ability to lift, bend, push, pull, walk, and stand for extended periods. Hours to be determined in conjunction with the right candidate. Flexibility to assist with snow removal and weather-related or operational needs outside of regular hours when required. Preferred Experience maintaining or performing minor repairs on grounds equipment. Knowledge of seasonal landscape maintenance and snow management operations. Competencies Ability to work independently and handle multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously. Possess and maintain valid non-commercial driver's license. Additional eligibility requirements Able to successfully complete CORI and SORI checks. Salary $18•25 per hour depending on experience and level of ability to work independently and with farming equipment.
