A Landscaping or Groundskeeping Worker provides landscaping for residences, parks, public gardens, college campuses or building or office park grounds. Provides care for plants and trees including mowing, trimming and planting, and repairs driveways, walks, benches or other structures.

(GHI) , is a not-for-profit housing cooperative of 1,600 homes in the historic "Old Greenbelt" neighborhood of Greenbelt, Maryland. We are currently seeking a motivated, dependable and experienced Groundskeeper to join our team. What You'll Do :
Mow, edge, trim, water, seed, dethatch, and aerate lawns and landscaped areas. Maintain shrubs, hedges, trees and plant beds through mulching, watering, pruning and weed removal. Plant and maintain annuals, perennials and ground cover. Remove dead plants, shrubs, trees, stumps and roots as needed. Keep common areas, sidewalks, parking lots and wooded areas free of litter, leaves, branches and and debris. Remove snow and ice from sidewalks and parking areas and apply ice-melt products during winter weather . Assist with minor sidewalk and asphalt repairs. Help identify and address pest infestations including rodents, insects, termites, ants, roaches, wasps and other common pests. Assist with small drainage improvements and repair projects. Install and remove outdoor signs throughout the complex . Perform crawl space inspections and replace crawl space vents when needed Respond to emergency maintenance situations, including learning basic plumbing, electrical and carpentry repairs. Participate in weekend, evening and emergency on-call duties when required. Work additional hours during severe weather or other emergency situations as needed.
Qualifications :
Required:
Minimum of 3 years or professional landscaping or grounds maintenance experience. Strong knowledge of landscaping techniques, grounds maintenance procedures, equipment and safety practices. High school diploma or GED Valid driver's license with a good driving record. Ability to follow verbal and written instructions. Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions. Ability to lift, carry, bend, kneel and perform physically demanding tasks throughout the workday. Reliable, punctual and team-oriented with a strong work ethic. Why Join Greenbelt Homes?
