This position is scheduled for four shorter days per week — ideally Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. During the initial training period, once fully trained and comfortable with our gardens, Friday and Saturday are the two days of the week that are most essential. We can be flexible negotiating the rest of the day of the week. Our normal hours of operation are 6:00 AM-2:00 PM. This position is specifically focused on the garden. The right person will learn our cultivation routines, plant needs, rooms, schedules, and procedures thoroughly enough to become confident and dependable garden coverage when our Lead Gardener is off duty. We are looking for someone who, once trained, can walk into the garden, understand what needs to be done, prioritize the day's work, recognize when something isn't right, and confidently handle routine garden responsibilities without needing constant supervision. The position involves working throughout the cannabis plant life cycle, including our Mom Room, Nursery, Veg, and Flower Rooms. Previous cannabis cultivation experience is not required. We are willing to train the right person, but we are looking for someone who is dependable, attentive, organized, confident, and genuinely interested in learning how to care for the garden. Responsibilities Watering and general plant care Monitoring plants closely for changes, problems, or inconsistencies Leaf picking and defoliation Cloning and transplanting Trellising, staking, and plant tie-ups Learning and following room schedules, routines, and cultivation procedures Prioritizing and completing necessary garden tasks when working independently Recognizing and promptly communicating plant, environmental, equipment, or facility concerns Maintaining clean and organized grow rooms, workspaces, tools, sinks, tables, storage areas, floors, and common areas Regular deep cleaning Accurate data recording Following established procedures, mixture ratios, and cultivation instructions Following the Employee Handbook and all applicable OCP requirements What We're Looking For The ideal candidate will be: Reliable and punctual Highly attentive to detail Clean and organized Comfortable taking responsibility for the garden when working without the Lead Gardener present Able to assess what needs to be done and work confidently and independently once trained Observant and able to recognize when plants or environmental conditions don't look right Efficient and comfortable in a hands-on work environment Able to follow established procedures consistently Comfortable asking questions and seeking direction while learning Able to retain training and apply new skills independently Able to prioritize tasks appropriately Comfortable working both independently and closely with a small team Comfortable performing repetitive, physically active work Able to lift and perform the physical requirements of the positio A clear and effective communicator Able to promptly report discrepancies, problems, or concerns Requirements Must be 21 years of age or older Must have a valid State ID Must have reliable transportation Long-term Thursday, Friday, and Saturday availability is strongly preferred Basic math skills are required Ability to accurately follow recipes and mixture ratios Previous cannabis cultivation experience is not required
