Starting pay is $24 per hour, with a path to $30 per hour as you develop software, leadership, and robotic-mowing skills. We recently completed our first year providing automated mowing service in Southeast Michigan. We are now preparing to equip more crews with robotic tools that support their daily work. This gives experienced lawn and snow professionals the chance to learn valuable technical skills while continuing to lead crews and deliver excellent service. What you can expect $24 per hour starting pay, with advancement up to $30 per hour Paid robotic-mowing and operating-software training Minimum guaranteed winter hours, subject to your employment offer Year-round lawn and snow work A paid three-day work interview for candidates selected for the final hiring stage Health insurance eligibility after one year of employment, subject to the company benefit plan 401(k) eligibility after one year of employment, subject to the plan and applicable law Crew Leads start at Level 1 at $24 per hour. Advancement to Level 2 is based on software proficiency, productivity, attendance, and leadership. Level 3 pays $30 per hour after completion of required robotic-mowing certification, demonstration of field readiness, and owner approval. Advancement depends on meeting the requirements for each level; no fixed promotion date is promised. What you'll do Lead a lawn-maintenance crew and manage daily routes Operate commercial mowing, trimming, blowing, and related equipment Maintain property quality, safety, and productivity standards Learn to set up, operate, monitor, and troubleshoot robotic mowers Use company software to manage routes and document work Coach crew members and communicate with customers and office staff Lead or support snow and ice operations during winter weather What you'll need Professional lawn-maintenance and snow-removal experience Previous crew-lead, foreman, or team-lead experience A valid driver's license and acceptable driving record Experience safely operating commercial lawn and snow equipment Dependable attendance and sound judgment in the field Willingness to learn new technology and complete required training Ability to work outdoors and meet the physical demands of the job Availability during winter storms, including early mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays when conditions require Winter work is a required part of this position. When snowfall is limited, winter hours may be used for paid training, automated-mowing certification, equipment preparation, and route planning. Eco Lawns also provides landscape maintenance, spring and fall cleanups, professional lighting installations, and city abatements. As we add services in response to industry trends, we provide appropriate training. These services create more ways for employees to develop their skills and find the work that fits them best.
