Overview We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Groundskeeper to join our team. The Groundskeeper is responsible for independently maintaining commercial and residential properties through year-round turf, pond, landscape, seasonal, snow-removal, equipment, and general property-care work. This is a varied, hands-on role for someone who notices what needs to be done, establishes practical maintenance routines, and takes ownership to keep properties safe, clean, functional, and well maintained with little to no supervision. The position also provides trusted support to company executives and their families through errands, event setup, vehicle care, deliveries, and other assigned property-related tasks.
CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES
Grounds and Turf Management:
Maintain lawns through mowing, trimming, edging, aerating, fertilizing, weed control, leaf removal, and seasonal cleanup; maintain landscaping rocks, flower beds, trees, shrubs, and trails.
Landscape Installation and Care:
Install, repair, and maintain commercial and residential hardscapes and softscapes, including plantings, beds, retaining features, decorative stone, and related landscape elements.
Pond and Property Care:
Maintain ponds and surrounding areas; provide routine bug and mosquito control; clean gutters, exterior windows, decks, siding, barns, retaining walls, stamped concrete, and other outdoor surfaces.
Seasonal and Winter Maintenance:
Complete spring and fall cleanup, place driveway markers, operate truck equipped with a snowplow, shovel and blow snow, apply salt or other ice-control materials, and respond to changing weather and property conditions.
General Maintenance and Repairs:
Perform building maintenance, painting, basic carpentry, power washing, minor repairs, and miscellaneous upkeep at commercial and residential properties. Maintain, troubleshoot, and perform seasonal startup and winterization of sprinkler systems.
Equipment Operation and Care:
Safely operate, inspect, clean, and maintain groundskeeping equipment, heavy equipment, vehicles, recreational vehicles, hand tools, and power tools, including mowers, trimmers, edgers, aerators, spreaders, blowers, power washers, snow blowers, and related equipment.
Work Planning and Ownership:
Organize workload, assess property needs, set priorities, create recurring maintenance routines and schedules, obtain needed materials, track follow-through, and complete work with little to no supervision.
Executive and Property Support:
Complete commercial and personal errands and tasks for company executives, including moving furniture, pickups and deliveries, vehicle maintenance and washing/detailing, party and event setup, weekly trash pickup, and animal care.
Professional Conduct and Discretion:
Maintain a neat, professional appearance; behave appropriately around owners, family members, guests, employees, and vendors; protect privacy; safeguard keys, vehicles, property, and confidential information; and demonstrate sound judgment and trustworthiness.
Travel and Availability:
Drive company and personal vehicles as assigned, travel between properties and job locations, and occasionally work outside normal hours or overnight when operational needs are required.
EXPERIENCE
Turf and pond management experience is required. Experience installing and maintaining hardscapes and softscapes at commercial and residential properties is required. Five or more years of lawn care, groundskeeping, landscaping, property maintenance, or related hands-on experience is preferred. Experience safely operating and caring for groundskeeping equipment, heavy equipment, vehicles, power tools, and hand tools. A valid driver's license and a driving record acceptable to the Company's insurer are required. Successful completion of a background check is required, consistent with applicable law. Applicable pesticide, tree-care, equipment-operation, or other relevant certifications are preferred where required by the work performed.
Pay:
$25.00 - $28.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
