Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Grounds Keeper to maintain and enhance the beauty and functionality of our softball complex. This vital role involves ensuring the fields, landscaping, and surrounding areas are in pristine condition, providing athletes and visitors with a safe, attractive, and well-maintained environment. The Grounds Keeper will be responsible for implementing landscape maintenance practices, operating various tools and equipment, and supporting overall grounds care to promote optimal playing conditions and aesthetic appeal. Duties Maintain the softball fields by performing mowing, edging, fertilizing, aerating, and overseeding to ensure healthy turf growth. Operate power tools such as lawn mowers, trimmers, blowers, and other landscaping equipment safely and efficiently. Conduct landscape maintenance including planting, pruning, mulching, and weed control to keep the complex visually appealing. Use hand tools for gardening tasks such as planting flowers or shrubs, removing debris, or repairing fencing and structures. Perform routine lawn care tasks like edging walkways, trimming bushes, and maintaining pathways for safety and aesthetics. Support general maintenance activities across the complex to ensure all areas are safe, clean, and inviting for players and visitors. Qualifications Prior experience in landscaping, gardening, or groundskeeping is preferred but not required; a strong willingness to learn is valued. Knowledge of horticulture principles and landscape maintenance techniques. Ability to operate power tools and hand tools safely while adhering to safety guidelines. Familiarity with basic lawn care practices. Physical ability to perform outdoor work including standing, bending, lifting heavy objects, and operating machinery for extended periods. Strong attention to detail with a proactive approach to grounds maintenance tasks. Excellent teamwork skills with a positive attitude toward maintaining a professional sports environment.
