N/A Minimum Qualifications High school graduation or equivalent. Ability to read directions and written instructions. Performs physically active work requiring frequent standing, reaching, walking, bending, shoveling, pushing, climbing on a ladder and lifting in order to perform various grounds and event operations tasks. Frequent lifting requiring the execution of up to sixty pounds of force to move and use supplies, landscaping materials, grounds equipment. Completion of an employment physical to verify the applicant's ability to perform the duties of the position is required. Work with fertilizers and other substances that may produce strong and/or offensive odors and works in various conditions with extremes in the heat and cold. A valid Michigan driver's license, a driving record acceptable to the University and a criminal background check are required. Desired Qualifications Grounds keeping/irrigation/landscape experience Position Purpose Assist with Winter Wonder Lights and seasonal holiday light displays. Maintain the estate grounds at Meadow Brook Hall. May assist with duties of operations unit. Job Duties Part-time groundskeeper is responsible for tasks such as mowing, string trimming, picking up trash, planting flowers, utilizing various types of grounds equipment. Managing supplies, irrigation and overall maintenance of the estate grounds. This position also assists with set up and removal Winter Wonder Lights and seasonal holiday light displays
