Schedule:

Full-time, Monday-Friday Approximately 40-50 hours per week during the busy season, with some Saturday work during peak periods or as needed. About the Position Rockford Hardscapes is looking for an experienced Landscape / Hardscape Installer to join our growing team. This is not strictly a general labor position. We are looking for someone with professional landscaping, hardscaping, construction, or similar hands-on experience who is comfortable working outdoors, using equipment, and taking pride in a finished project. For the right person, there is a clear opportunity to grow into a Site Lead / Crew Foreman position with increased responsibilities and compensation. We are a small company where the owners work alongside the crew. We believe in doing quality work rather than rushing through jobs, keeping our jobsites professional and organized, and helping each other wherever needed. What You'll Do Work may include: Installing paver patios and walkways Retaining wall construction Preparing and compacting aggregate bases Grading and working with topsoil Planting trees, shrubs, perennials, and other landscape materials Mulch and landscape bed installation Measuring grades and elevations Operating light construction and landscape equipment Operating Dingo / mini skid-steer equipment and attachments Operating commercial zero-turn mowers as needed Loading, unloading, and moving landscape and hardscape materials Maintaining a clean, safe, and organized jobsite Assisting with a variety of landscaping, hardscaping, and property-maintenance projects Experience with every item above is not required . We are willing to train someone who already has a good foundation of professional landscape, hardscape, or construction experience and is willing to learn. What We're Looking For Approximately 2+ years of professional landscaping, hardscaping, construction, or related hands-on experience preferred Must have relevant hands-on work experience Dependable and able to maintain reliable attendance Comfortable performing physically demanding work throughout the day Able to lift and carry materials weighing up to approximately 75 lbs Able to work outdoors in summer heat, cold weather, and changing conditions Comfortable kneeling, digging, carrying block and pavers, and performing repetitive physical work Comfortable operating equipment or willing and able to learn Able to follow instructions, project plans, and established installation methods Takes pride in quality workmanship and a clean jobsite Works well as part of a small crew Driving & Equipment A valid driver's license is strongly preferred. Candidates with a clean or reasonably clean driving record are preferred, especially those with experience: Driving pickup trucks with equipment or dump trailers Safely backing and maneuvering trailers Loading and securing equipment Operating zero-turn mowers, Dingo/mini skid-steers, or similar machinery A Michigan Chauffeur's License is preferred but not required at time of hire . We are willing to help the right employee obtain one. Opportunity to Advance We are especially interested in candidates who want to grow beyond an installer position. Advancement into a Site Lead / Crew Foreman role may be available for someone who demonstrates the ability to: Lead and work alongside a small crew Follow project plans and layouts Communicate professionally with customers and coworkers Organize daily work and materials Maintain a clean and professional jobsite Operate equipment safely and responsibly Take ownership of completing projects correctly and efficiently Compensation will increase as responsibilities and capabilities increase. Seasonal Work Our primary landscape and hardscape season generally runs March through November . For employees with snow-plowing experience, winter snow-removal work may also be available.
