SEASONAL
GROUNDS TECHNICIAN
Location:
Traverse City, MI The Village at Bay Ridge is seeking an individual with high energy to join our team as a Grounds Technician for our beautiful apartment community located in Traverse City, MI. We are looking for someone with good knowledge of landscaping, along with strong attention to detail and with a positive attitude.EEO SUMMARY OF JOB PURPOSE AND FUNCTION
- Full time non-exempt - 40 hours per week, Monday thru Friday 8:00am-5:00pm
- Primary duties are for all grounds. Grass, weeds, blowing off parking lots, edging, debris removal from sidewalks, and daily walk of the grounds.
- Maintain the building exterior in all aspects making sure our residents have a safe, well maintained, clean and caring place in which to live.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS
- Excellent communication skills (written & verbal)
- Motivated. Self-starter.
- High standards and work ethics
- Landscaping, plant and tree knowledge helpful.
- Strong detail, organizational abilities and time management skills
- Must accurately follow instructions
- Conducts all business in accordance with company policy and procedure, Fair Housing, and all other federal, state and local laws.
- Perform all assigned tasks in a professional manner to reflect the highest integrity of the grounds and maintenance department and company as a whole
- At all times be respectful to our customer, families, visitors and team members
- Ensure property is shown in its best at all times by keeping the property clean, neat and presentable from street curb to front door and inside to outside
- Grounds work as required - weeding, snow removal, de-icing, removing trash and other lawn care and landscaping duties
- Ensure that all equipment is in complete working and ready at all times
- The above does not include all duties to be performed by the employee. Employees will be required to perform additional duties as directed by their supervisors.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Must have valid driver license and have reliable transportation to work.
- Must be able to stand or move for majority of work schedule
- Must be able to occasionally lift, carry, push & pull up to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to bend, squat, crawl, kneel, push, pull, walk on uneven surfaces on a frequent basis
- Must be able to work outside in a variety of weather conditions (rain, wind, heat) Effectively and professionally communicate verbally with coworkers, residents, residents families, and Community Manager.
