About Troy Clogg Landscape Associates For nearly 40 years, Troy Clogg Landscape Associates has been one of Michigan's leading landscape design/build, commercial maintenance, and snow removal companies, serving residential and commercial clients throughout SE Michigan. Our team grows to 200+ strong during peak season. We take pride in delivering beautifully maintained properties and building a culture rooted in community, teamwork, and hard work. Position Summary The Lawn Crew Member is a hands-on field role responsible for performing day-to-day landscape maintenance tasks — mowing, trimming, edging, and general property upkeep — on residential and commercial properties. This role works as part of a crew under the direction of a Crew Leader, ensuring every property meets TCLA's quality standards and every client leaves impressed. Key Responsibilities Operate mowers, string trimmers, edgers, and blowers safely and efficiently Mow, trim, and edge lawns according to property specifications and TCLA quality standards Perform bed maintenance: weeding, mulching, pruning, and general clean-up Load, unload, and transport equipment and materials to and from job sites Follow daily route/property assignments provided by the Crew Leader Communicate professionally and courteously with clients encountered on-site Identify and report any property issues, irrigation problems, or damage to the Crew Leader Perform routine equipment checks and basic maintenance (cleaning, blade checks, fueling) Follow all safety procedures, including proper use of PPE (safety glasses, ear protection, gloves) Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, including truck and trailer upkeep Assist with seasonal projects such as spring clean-ups, fall clean-ups, and mulch installations Support snow removal operations during winter months, if applicable/available Qualifications Required Ability to perform physically demanding work outdoors in varying weather conditions Ability to lift 50+ lbs repeatedly throughout the day Reliable transportation to the shop/yard for daily start times Strong work ethic, punctuality, and willingness to work as part of a team Basic communication skills in English sufficient for safety instructions and client interaction Preferred Prior landscaping, groundskeeping, or outdoor labor experience Valid driver's license (an asset for trailer/truck operation as crew members advance) Experience operating commercial mowers, trimmers, or other power equipment Availability for overtime and Saturday work during peak season Interest in year-round employment through snow removal season Work Schedule Typical season: April/May through November Standard hours: Monday-Friday, early morning start (weather-dependent), with occasional Saturdays during peak season Overtime opportunities available during spring/fall rush periods Winter snow removal shifts available for crew members who wish to work year-round (on-call, nights/weekends as needed) What TCLA Offers Competitive hourly pay, with opportunities for raises based on performance and skill development Paid on-the-job training on equipment operation and safety Opportunities for advancement to Crew Leader and beyond A supportive team culture with a company that gives back to the community Steady, physical, outdoor work — no two days are the same
