Join Our Rum River Hills Turf Team:
Golf Course Rough Mower Equipment Operator Are you an early riser who loves the outdoors? Do you get a strange sense of satisfaction from a perfectly mowed lawn? If you want your "office" to be 150 acres of beautiful, rolling green hills, we have the perfect spot for you. We are looking for a reliable, detail-oriented Rough Mower Equipment Operator to join our golf course maintenance team. In this role, you'll play a critical part in keeping our course beautiful, challenging, and pristine for our players. What You'll Do (Responsibilities) As a Rough Mower Operator, your main canvas is the "rough"—the areas of grass bordering our fairways and greens.
Your daily duties will include:
Mowing the
Rough:
Safely and efficiently operate large, commercial-grade rotary and reel riding mowers to maintain the rough at its designated height.
Equipment Care:
Perform daily pre-trip inspections of your mower (checking oil, fuel, and blade sharpness) and clean your equipment after use.
Course Presentation:
Keep an eye out for debris, broken branches, or turf issues, reporting any concerns to the Superintendent. Support the
Crew:
Assist with other general course maintenance tasks (such as string trimming, course setup, or bunker raking) when mowing is caught up or weather-delayed. What We're Looking For (Requirements)
The Early Bird:
Shift times typically start at dawn (around 5:30 AM - 6:00 AM ). If you aren't a morning person, this might not be the gig for you!
Safety First:
Ability to safely operate heavy machinery on slopes, uneven terrain, and around golf course obstacles (like trees and bunkers).
Physical Stamina:
Comfort working outdoors in various weather conditions (heat, light rain, morning dew) and sitting/operating machinery for extended periods. Eye for
Detail:
A commitment to clean lines and protecting the turf from damage.
Experience:
Previous experience operating commercial landscaping equipment or golf course machinery is a huge plus, but we are willing to train the right candidate with a great attitude. Perks & Benefits The Best Office View in
