  • Part-time, Full-time Westminster Christian Academy is currently seeking a full-time Groundskeeper II to join our Facilities team.
Founded in 1976 as an independent, coeducational school, Westminster Christian Academy provides a comprehensive college preparatory program for 970 students in grades 7 through 12. The school is located in suburban St. Louis County, Missouri, on a 70-acre campus, 20 minutes from downtown St. Louis. Westminster Christian Academy honors Jesus Christ by providing an excellent education, rooted in biblical truth as interpreted by the Westminster Confession of Faith, for the children of Christian parents. Faculty and staff enable students to discover and embrace a biblical view of the world and integrate that view into every area of life. The Groundskeeper II role is a full-time, 12-month role, eligible for full benefits including: medical, dental, vision, retirement plan, life insurance, vacation, sick, personal time, and more. Pay rate up to $22 per hour (dependent upon experience). Qualifications A clear testimony of a personal saving relationship with Jesus Christ. Membership or faithful attendance at an approved Protestant church congregation. An associates degree or equivalent technical certificate in Horticulture, Biology or Plant Science is helpful, though not required. Minimum of 3 year experience in the green industry is required. A Non-Commercial Applicators License is helpful, though not required. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Proficiency in Word, Excel, and Google applications strongly preferred. Responsibilities Assists in the care of all trees, shrubs, flower beds and any other landscaped areas of the property. Assists in the mowing of all the property including athletic fields and non athletic areas. Assists in snow and ice removal. Assists with athletic field preparation for contests including field striping, grooming and any other needed actions. Assists in the operation and maintenance of the site irrigation system. Assists in trash removal of the outdoor space. Assists in maintaining all grounds equipment. Supervises the Grounds Department in the absence of the Lead Groundskeeper. Aids in certain activities setups for various building uses (chapel, graduation, P/T Conferences etc.). Assists in parking cars for large school events. Physical Demands Constant movement around campus to attend to various grounds routines and issues. Ability to frequently stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb, push, pull, carry, and perform significant lifting up to 80 pounds. Ability to safely use common shop tools, hand tools, and service tools. Ability to safely use various, but common grounds equipment including, but not limited to, UTVs, tractors, zero-turn mowers, walk behind mowers, push mowers, trimmers, sprayers, pruning, cutting and chipping equipment, blowers, chainsaws, etc. Ability to safely drive trucks and pull trailers. Ability to operate snow removal equipment. Utilize common office equipment and perform standard computer work. Good depth perception and coordination skills for equipment operation.
