Job Overview We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Grounds Maintenance Technician to join our dynamic team dedicated to maintaining pristine outdoor environments. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the health, safety, and aesthetic appeal (including cleaning apartments to prepare units for new tenants) of our grounds, including athletic fields, golf courses, landscaped areas, and other outdoor spaces. Your expertise in irrigation systems, landscaping, and groundskeeping equipment will help create inviting and well-maintained outdoor spaces that enhance the overall environment. Responsibilities Operate and maintain groundskeeping equipment such as mowers, chainsaws, power tools, and irrigation systems safely and efficiently. Perform landscape maintenance tasks including mowing, trimming, planting, pruning, fertilizing, and watering to promote healthy growth. Manage irrigation systems to ensure proper watering schedules and troubleshoot issues as they arise. Conduct pest management activities using pesticides responsibly following safety protocols and regulations. Assist with athletic field groundskeeping by preparing surfaces for games or events and maintaining turf quality. Use hand tools and power tools for various landscaping projects while adhering to safety standards. Perform manual handling tasks such as lifting heavy equipment or materials to support ongoing maintenance projects. Maintain equipment through routine inspections, cleaning, lubrication, and repairs to ensure optimal performance. Support general gardening and horticulture activities to enhance the visual appeal of outdoor spaces. Operate company vehicles for transportation of tools, equipment, or materials as needed. General maintenance repairs are required including cleaning and preparing make ready units (preparing units for new tenants). This position requires monitoring and closing service tickets, good customer service and rapoor with our tenants and staff. If general security and watching over the property overnight is needed this position would be required to be available. If a need arises for a tenant on site this position would require a response to assist 24/7. Skills Proven experience with irrigation systems installation, repair, and troubleshooting. Strong knowledge of athletic field groundskeeping techniques and golf course maintenance practices. Familiarity with landscape maintenance procedures including lawn care, gardening, and horticulture principles. Ability to operate hand tools such as shovels, rakes, pruners along with power tools like chainsaws and trimmers safely. Skilled in manual handling techniques for lifting heavy objects or equipment safely. Experience with pesticide management following safety guidelines and environmental regulations. Competence in operating grounds maintenance machinery such as mowers, aerators, blowers, and other landscaping equipment. Knowledge of power tool safety protocols to prevent accidents during operation. Ability to perform routine equipment maintenance to ensure longevity and proper functioning of tools.
