Job Description
Job Overview A well-established, historic bed and breakfast in the Asheville area is seeking a Part-time self-motivated Groundskeeper to take full ownership of our grounds. This role is ideal for someone who doesn't need direction to know what needs to be done — someone who sees a task, prioritizes it, and gets it handled. What You'll Own The overall appearance and condition of the property's lawns, landscaping, and outdoor spaces Mowing, edging, planting, weeding, pruning, mulching and seasonal bed maintenance Walkways, driveway, and parking area upkeep Light exterior maintenance (power washing, gutter checks, minor repairs) Monitoring drainage and addressing any watering-related issues Equipment care and organization Identifying and addressing grounds needs before they're asked for What We're Looking For A true self-starter who can independently manage priorities and workload with minimal oversight Prior groundskeeping, landscaping, or property maintenance experience preferred Comfortable operating standard lawn and garden equipment Maintain equipment through routine cleaning and preventative maintenance to ensure longevity and optimal performance Strong ownership mentality — you treat the property like it's yours Reliable transportation Ability to track time spent on tasks and communicate progress regularly Ability to lift 50 lbs. and work outdoors in varying weather To apply, please send a brief message about your experience, along with examples of how you've managed grounds or property maintenance independently.
