  • " •Underground Distribution Groundperson•A entry-level position building towards a career in maintaining and repairing underground distribution and transmission systems.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
  • + Perform new construction, maintenance or repair work of energized and de-energized underground line workfollowing company established Safety and Health standards from the ground level.
+ Ability to problem solve with unidentified circumstances on any job. + Ensure daily testing and inspection of assigned tools and equipment. + Maintain company equipment in a safe and efficient manner. + Excavates to assist in the installation of structures or cable as required by contract specification. + Will have contact with public and private property owners to professionally communicate work to be performed. + Participates in company training of all regional safety guidelines and is required to perform all work by the regional safety policies. + Operates various tools for the work (manual digging devices, wrenches, hammers, come-alongs, jack hammer and hand-line etc.). + All other duties as required or requested by Supervisors. + Reports all potential equipment and crew safety hazards to Foreperson.
  • Minimum Qualifications:
  • + Must be 18 years of age or older. + Ability to: + follow directions, work safely & productively. + problem solve with unidentified circumstances on any job. + identify, operate and service all required tools and equipment. (i.e., bucket truck, digger derrick truck, tensioners, puller, rollers, hand tamp, chain saw, concrete saw, shovel)
  • Education & Experience
  • + Ability to provide proof of work experience, schooling, and other certifications obtained during career.
  • Pre-Screen
  • + Upon offer, employees may be required to complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen, background, and/or MVR check.
  • License & Certifications:
  • + Driver License Required, willingness to obtain a valid CDL within 90 days of employment preferred.
  • Travel Requirements:
  • + Willing to travel out of state for emergency storm work.
