Champion Hills Club , located in Hendersonville, NC , is pleased to announce an excellent career opportunity for a part-time Groundskeeper ! We are seeking a motivated individual who is interested in contributing to a positive experience for our members and guests while continuing to grow their knowledge of golf club operations. As an associate of Troon , you will contribute to a global leader in golf and community management. Assist in the preliminary screening of prospective employees with recommendations to the Director of Grounds. Schedule, assign and supervise the daily work requirements for the Landscape staff and participate as needed. Provide initial training to new employees on safe operation of all equipment and tasks. Provide training on all new job assignments resulting in use of different equipment as required. Perform minor repairs and maintenance to landscape equipment. Support the Safety program through example; training staff at orientation and annually reinforce safety through scheduled monthly department safety meetings with employee participation, positive motivation, personal protective equipment and disciplinary action, if required. Maintain a Pesticide License and direct the work of employees who apply product to ensure safe and proper use of the chemical and PPE. Inspect the property daily to evaluate progress and results as well as identify any areas that have the potential of becoming a future concern. Continually communicate with other departments to establish a teamwork concept. Assist with the acquisition of equipment, materials and supplies necessary to accomplish all landscape projects and goals. Communicate daily with the Director of Grounds to determine work requirements to be scheduled for the following day or project work to be accomplished based on approved plan of action and budgetary requirements. Communicate daily with the Director of Grounds to provide progress reports and relevant information concerning equipment, personnel or other pertinent information. Ensure that all equipment is in safe operating order and is maintained properly by the landscape employees. Monitor and require that unsafe equipment be locked out until repaired. Develop the talents of the landscape staff to provide advancement opportunity and stability within the department. Full Time Employees. Full Time Seasonal Employees. Exposure to outside elements, such as heat, cold and rain, uneven terrain, insects, and/or flying objects. Moderate physical activity. Requires handling of average-weight objects up to 50 pounds. Contact with chemicals, fertilizers, or other agronomically applied products. Exposure to high decibel of noise. Association with and proximity to various machines, implements, and equipment used in the maintenance of landscaping. Minimum 1 year for education in Horticulture Curriculum. 2+ years experience in landscape design and installation. AS degree in Horticulture preferred. Valid NC Pesticide License for Turf and Ornamental. Proven supervisory experience. Computer literate
  • Windows Environment. Operation of large and small equipment. Valid US driver license.
