Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Grounds Maintenance Technician to join our team, focusing on the upkeep and enhancement of the golf course and landscaped areas. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining pristine grounds through hands-on landscaping, irrigation management, and groundskeeping activities. Your efforts will ensure safe, attractive, and well-maintained outdoor spaces that meet high standards of quality and safety. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work outdoors using a variety of tools and equipment while contributing to the beauty and functionality of our recreational environments. Duties Operate and maintain landscaping equipment, including power tools, chainsaws, and irrigation systems to ensure optimal performance and safety. Perform irrigation system installation, repair, and adjustments to promote healthy turf and plant growth across athletic fields and golf courses. Conduct regular groundskeeping tasks such as mowing, edging, fertilizing, aerating, and watering to maintain lush lawns and landscaped areas. Use hand tools and manual handling techniques for planting, pruning, soil preparation, and other gardening activities. Manage pesticide applications following safety protocols to control pests while protecting the environment. Assist with heavy lifting tasks involving soil, mulch, sod, or other materials to support landscaping projects. Operate company vehicles safely for transportation of equipment or materials around the site. Maintain equipment through routine inspections, cleaning, lubrication, and minor repairs to ensure longevity and safety. Support the installation and maintenance of athletic field surfaces by preparing soil beds, laying turf or sod, and ensuring proper drainage. Follow all safety guidelines related to power tool operation, pesticide handling, heavy lifting, and equipment use to prevent accidents. Qualifications Experience in landscape maintenance is preferred. Knowledge of athletic field groundskeeping or golf course maintenance is highly desirable. Ability to operate grounds maintenance machinery such as mowers, aerators, chainsaws, trimmers, and other power tools safely. Strong manual handling skills with the physical ability for heavy lifting and prolonged outdoor work in various weather conditions. Familiarity with pesticide management practices following environmental safety standards. Valid driver's license with experience operating company vehicles is required. Excellent attention to detail with a proactive approach to landscape care and maintenance tasks. Ability to follow instructions accurately while working independently or as part of a team.
