Performs intermediate semiskilled work maintaining golf course and club house, and related work as apparent or assigned. Work is performed under the moderate supervision of the Golf Course Supervisor. Maintains rough, greens, and fairways on golf course; mows course; removes debris from course and cart paths. Changes pin placement holes on greens. Rakes sand traps using motorized equipment. Maintains ball washers and tee boxes; paints as needed. Spreads grass seeds on course as needed. Maintains interior of club house during cold weather; lays out protective tarps over greens to prevent cold weather damage; removes trees and stumps when course is empty due to weather.

Education and Experience:

High school diploma or GED and moderate experience in general landscaping work, golf course maintenance, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities :

Thorough knowledge of related industry, organization, and department policies, practices, and procedures; thorough knowledge of related industry organization, and departmental legal guides, recommendations, best practices, ordinances, and laws; comprehensive knowledge of the methods, tools and equipment required to maintain golf course greens, fairways, roughs, and cart paths; thorough knowledge of the operating and maintenance requirements of power mowers and allied equipment; general knowledge of and skill in the proper methods of planting, cultivating, watering and trimming greens, tees and fairways; some knowledge of the characteristics of the various kinds of grasses used in golf courses and of the means of controlling grass diseases and pests; ability to work outdoors in year-round; ability to develop and maintain an effective working relationship with associates, supervisors, and the general public.
