Job Description

Position Summary:
Lincoln Children's Zoo is seeking highly motivated and enthusiastic individuals to join the Zoo Lights team. The Zoo Lights Ground and Ladder Crew Member will be responsible for assembling lights, displays, and other decorations for the Zoo. This part-time seasonal position will run from July 2026, through March 2027. The anticipated working schedule will be Monday through Friday, 7:00am to 3:30pm. Essential Job Functions Report to Lift Operator on-site during installation projects. Support Lift Operator by retrieving materials, executing support tasks, and ensuring a safe ground-level work environment. Safely operate and maneuver a 12-foot ladder to install lights on trees, bushes, fences, and other elevated surfaces through the Zoo. Uphold the Zoo's safety policies and procedures to ensure guest safety during the assembling and installation of lights, displays, and other decorations. Provide guests with basic zoo information, directions, and assistance as needed. Communicate frequently with Zoo Lights staff via radio, intercom, or cell phone. Maintain a clean and orderly workspace. All other duties as assigned. Preferred Qualifications Strong communication and problem-solving skills. Strong work ethic and a positive attitude. Willing to work outdoors in a semi-heated location. An eye for artistic detail. Demonstrated ability to work independently. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Valid driver's license. The employee must be able to sustain physical labor for a full work day. Working Environment While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be exposed to both indoor and outdoor conditions. Exposure to inclement weather, rough terrain, dust, dirt, and other allergens are common. Winter conditions often include snow and ice. Conditions may be slippery due to wet surfaces, snow, ice, mud or loose gravel, sand, and dirt. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but can increase to a loud volume. ase to a loud volume.
